Every Hen weekend is different and uniquely special, but this is a popular itinerary.
Arrive Friday
You could arrive at lunchtime and start the weekend off with lunch at The Ship, which is opposite Beach House. Here is the lunch menu or you could arrive at Beach House on Friday afternoon, explore the house, argue over which will be your bed (!) and settle in.
Lots of people have their shopping for the weekend delivered at this point, Asda, Tesco, Waitrose and Sainsburys will all deliver, you need to give them the postcode (NR11 8BQ) and House number (10). Even if you aren’t planning on cooking, breakfast items, wine, crisps etc can all be delivered. However there is always Tesco Local in Mundesley village and the Spar shop in the village which is a 5 minute walk and open until 10pm each night (very handy indeed!).
Friday evening, maybe get a Chinese Takeaway? We have an excellent one in Mundesley village, just 5 to 10mins walk from the house.
Saturday
Saturday morning, explore the area! If it’s cold, wrap up warm, a long walk on the beach to clear your heads, or maybe a trip to Holt where there are fabulous shops for a bit of retail therapy (one of our guests found a pair of Louboutin shoes for £40 in one of the vintage stores) and a bite of lunch at Byfords.
Afternoon, back to Beach House for a pampering afternoon. We have mobile beauty therapists who will do mini treatments for £7 each, so you could have a mini facial and a manicure and whilst waiting for your treatment a dip in the hot tub or your own private jacuzzi bath in one of our lovely bathrooms at Beach House to relax and get ready for the evening ahead. And if it’s warm, then you have the beach to enjoy, maybe some swimming, sunbathing or maybe Surf School?
Saturday night
Our MOST popular activity is to book Avril and her waitress from Chef2Dine4 to cook, serve and wash up a dinner party for you. Everyone loves Avril, she’s a great chef and also such a nice person to have around in the background. Her waitresses all know Beach House really well and will get out the white linen table cloths, white linen napkins and gold napkin holders, we have a five arm candelabra, or glass candlesticks, or you can have little tea lights twinkling on the table, just bring your own decorations to personalise the party.
Some people have themed dinner parties, we’ve had Mexican nights with sombreros, moustaches and tequila! We’ve had murder Mystery Dinner parties, we’ve had toga parties, we’ve had Mamma Mia theme nights and a greek menu to match from Avril.
Sunday
I believe, is often spent quietly recovering from the worst excesses of Saturday night, but horse riding and golf at Mundesley golf course are fun and blow the cobwebs away! After that a very popular option of a proper Sunday roast at The Ship (Sunday lunch menu).
Monday: departure day
Don’t forget there are lots of other activities you can add in depending on your budget and how much time you have: craft workshops, surf school, cocktail making workshops etc.
If you are leaving Sunday you have the benefit of the whole day at the house with a 6pm departure time. If you would like to depart Monday there is a small fee for the Sunday night. Please ask when booking.
