Bedrooms

At a minimum, all bedrooms contain a bed(!) wardrobe & hangers, bedside tables, bedside lights, mirror, chest of drawers or drawers in the wardrobe. All have wooden floors with a rug or rugs on them.

All bedrooms are very spacious with plenty of room to walk round the bed/beds. The four at the front of the house have spectacular sea views. One room has a zebra print (fake!) chaise in the window, one has a red corduroy sofa in the window, one has a bay window and armchair. There are a further two sofas on the landings to sit and admire the view. There are no tiny box rooms.

We supply very high quality mattresses and mattress pads to add extra comfort. The beds have two pillows per person and the pillows have protectors on them, as do most of the beds. The protectors are laundered regularly. Our duvets range from 4 togs to 10.5 togs, the 4 tog duvets are on the super king sized bed, the other beds are 10.5 tog. If you get cold with the lighter duvets there is a heavy weight eiderdown on one of the superking beds and a huge lambswool blanket imported from New Zealand on the other superking bed.

Our bedlinen is all pure white and very high quality linen. It is all professionally laundered. Each bed is made up with a pretty coordinating throw and cushions for a bit of extra luxury. But if you don’t like duvets, we also leave a couple of linen sheets and cotton cellular blankets at the house.

In one room is a sofa and Sky television so that should arguments break out over what to watch on TV, a break-away group can go upstairs to that bedroom. In two of the twin rooms we’ve included children’s books and toys. One of the twin rooms is decorated with a more grown up theme and no kiddie toys.

Bathrooms & toilets

Toilet & sink on ground floor

2 bathrooms on 1st floor—one with corner bath and electric shower, one with roll top bath and shower over bath. Both have toilets and sinks.

1 bathroom on 2nd floor with toilet and sink, no shower apart from shower attachment on taps.

There is even the old outside toilet in one of the outhouses, it is still in use but has no door and is a bit spidery!

Other

In the cupboard you will usually find open packets of tea,  instant coffee and drinking chocolate. Usually some sugar, salt and pepper, stock cubes, some herbs and spices. Balsamic vinegar, malt vinegar, tomato sauce.

We leave a basic welcome pack with bread, milk, jam, coffee, tea, squash for the kids, a cake or perhaps some biscuits. Enough to have a cup of tea on arrival before you hit the shops!
